“Photos of houses I’ll never own”
SUB-urban is an on going photo project where I take photos of homes in Vancouver. I don’t know the people that own these houses and often times I’ve never seen the houses before. There’s just something about these scenes in the right light that leaves me imagining, “what would it be like to live there?” Seconds into that daydream I remember, someone in my chosen field will likely never know. I take the photo and archive the feeling.
It started as pictures of pretty houses and as time went by people would ask why I take these photos. struggling to find a good reason and wrestling with the idea of needing to have a reason, I have come to this project. So now we have a reason AND pictures of pretty houses, soon to be a publication available for purchase.
